I had been experiencing severe stiffness in my back for several months. Anytime I got up from bed in the morning I would be in pain for about an hour and unable to bend at the waist. Anytime I layed down for more than a few minutes, I would get up with severe stiffness and pain.<\/p>

I had never been to a chiropractor but I expected it to help lessen my symptoms but I didn’t expect it to completely eradicate them the way it did. I went from taking an hour for my back to loosen up each morning to jumping out of bed!!!!!! I was very pleasantly surprised!<\/p>

One day I woke up and felt something catch in my lower back and it literally stopped me in my tracts. I could barely move and was in some of the most severe pain I had experienced since sports injuries as a student athlete. I was in such pain that I found it incredibly difficult to pick up my newborn son. I had to shift positions to take him in and out of the crib and when I finally was able to do so, I did it while cringing in pain. I knew I couldn’t endure this level of pain or miss moments with my son for very long so I scheduled the first available appointment with Dr. Richardson.<\/p>

Within just a few sessions of her chiropractic adjustments, my pain levels dropped drastically and were completely eliminated over time. For years I was in 9\/10 pain to the point where I could not truly rest or sleep. I had never been to a neurologically-based chiropractor so I didn\u2019t know what to expect but after Dr. Richardson\u2019s presentation at our school I decided to try it out.<\/p>

Hosea 4:6 says, \u201c My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.\u201d This is the best way to describe my experience in chiropractic care. This is also a description for most of the world. People struggle the most with their body because they simply do not know how to care for their body. K-12 schooling does not give one this information. I went to bed for years with back pains I thought were normal. I stopped sleeping well after a while. I got into an accident in 2013 and I was just given medication. This remedy was the worst decision for me. It wasn\u2019t until I heard Dr. Richardson speaking about chiropractic care that I decided to check it out for myself. This was the best decision of my life.  Slowly but surely I began to gain my deep sleep back. I could exercise better, run better, the headaches stopped, and I had more energy and blood flow to my brain. My body was finally working for me and not against me. Most people are living in their body where they cannot move or do anything which means that most of their problems are back related. I learned that taking care of myself requires community, knowledge and consistency. If I didn\u2019t take Dr. Richardson\u2019s card that day I would still have the same problems. She gave me an education that has forever changed me. She was the community I needed to make the health changes I did. I am a PE teacher, went to school for four years and didn\u2019t get the education about what I needed to care properly for myself let alone teach it to students. Lauren–hair stylist and Mom of two, had been experiencing annoyingly persistent back discomfort from birthing\/caring for her kids and standing for long periods of time to serve her clients. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Shannon\u2019s job shifted from a fast-paced on-your-feet position to a more sedentary virtual environment. After a few short weeks of increased sitting while working 8+ hours each day, Shannon began having recurrent pain and general discomfort in her lower back region. It became very uncomfortable for her to move her body in certain positions and when she went to stretch the area, she was met with tons of stiffness. At the very beginning of her pregnancy, Dr. Richardson suffered from chronic mid back pain, constipation and sacral (sit bone) pain. Her sacral pain caused her to have trouble sitting for longer than 30 minutes and soreness in other positions. She had been under chiropractic care previously, but those experiences were manual adjusting techniques so she was curious to see how Torque Release Technique (TRT) would affect her.<\/p>

Since being under neurologically-based chiropractic care, she saw relief from her relentless mid back pain that had been plaguing her since before the pregnancy and reduced pregnancy aggravated sit bone pain! The minor aches and pains she experienced early on in pregnancy were effectively managed and got her to a point where she was more active and fluid than many other non-pregnant women, not to mention pregnant women who were nearly bedridden due to the debilitating pain they experienced during pregnancy. With her baby in tow, Dr. Richardson was still able to complete a 4-hour hands-on National Chiropractic Board Exam and consistently worked 12 hour days throughout her pregnancy–all without missing a beat!<\/p>

At the age of 13, Dr. Richardson was diagnosed with Dysmenorrhea and experienced debilitating menstrual cycles each month–she would curl into a ball of agonizing pain, experience nausea, miss work and school and repeatedly took 800 Ibuprofen with no relief for hours on end. In an attempt to alleviate her pain and regulate her cycle, her doctors prescribed numerous pain medications and oral contraceptives. While studying at Duke, Dr. Richardson learned about the potential long term adverse effects of synthetic hormones and decided to discontinue the oral contraceptives. Dr. Richardson was repeatedly encouraged to pursue chiropractic care but like most of society, she was convinced that chiropractic treatment was intended for accident victims who suffered back injuries and was certain she was not a candidate for chiropractic care.<\/p>

Dr. Richardson eventually visited Discover Chiropractic to receive a comprehensive neurological examination. During her visit, she was educated on the power of the nervous system and how it controls every process happening in the body. She learned about the concept of nerve interference and how misalignments in the spine limit the brain\u2019s ability to communicate with the body. After gaining a true understanding of chiropractic and how it could improve her overall health, Dr. Richardson began receiving chiropractic care. After a series of consistent specific chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Richardson\u2019s menstrual abnormalities were eliminated. She had finally discovered an option that addressed her issue at its source instead of exposing her body and the environment to synthetic chemicals. She was truly inspired!\u00a0<\/p>
